Who has super-digestive system?

n modern society people are very concerned about the ealthy diet. Is there any food or mixture of food for mainaining sound health and slim body shape without worrying bout calories? This question does not have a simple answer. ee et al., in this issue (pp. 39) searched many literatures nd pointed out very interesting aspect of digestive funcion among specific types of Sasang Constitutional Medicine SCM). Inmost literatures, Tae-Eum (TE) type people have very trong digestive function including good appetite and fast eatng habit whichmake them vulnerable to obesity. On the other and, So-Eum (SE) type people have a tendency to eat only a mall amount of food with slow eating habits, therefore less ikely to be obese. This review raised a fundamental quesion whether obesity is a result of strong appetite and eating mount rather than metabolic activity in TE type. Original oncept of SCM is imbalance between two important funcions and TE type is defined as strong activity of anabolism nd weak activity of catabolism1. But in this review TE type s characterized as more uptake in food amount rather than mbalance in activity of metabolism. I think it should be diferentiated between strong appetite andmetabolic imbalance n diagnosis of SCM type in future studies. Also In addition, hether obesity is the main determinant factor or simple esult of low catabolism in TE type should also be clarified. In ny caseweight control diet should bedifferent in various SCM ypes. And I look forward to having an article to propose Contitutional type-based specific diet-formula for weight control n the near future.
